TSPEC currently out of commission, plus, during instrument fills the TSPEC cap was stuck and the whole nozzle tube came off. Between clouds and technical difficulties we did not open immediately. Ben Harris came to site to work on TSPEC, and once we were able to fill the instrument, the sky cleared up and we were able to open around 21:30. The rest of the night went very smoothly, with minor interference from thin clouds and no more instrument trouble. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- TSPEC I/H 20:05 21:30 TSPEC fill tube came off ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:32 arctic 700( 1616) 232 69 18.6 20.6 19.9 20.3 19.9 SDSS_r 0.85 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 78 43 10 259 (W) 873 mstly cldy none 17:00 71 39 7 266 (W) 851 mstly cldy none 18:00 67 42 7 269 (W) 3488 mstly cldy none 19:00 65 39 5 263 (W) 6393 cloudy none 20:00 66 35 7 273 (W) 732 ptly cldy none 21:00 66 35 6 266 (W) 710 mstly clr none 22:00 67 37 8 236 (SW) 1152 mstly clr none 23:00 66 37 6 237 (WSW) 999 mstly clr none 00:00 64 39 1 219 (SW) 1568 mstly clr none 01:00 63 37 4 217 (SW) 1437 mstly clr none 02:00 62 39 6 248 (WSW) 862 mstly clr none 03:00 61 40 6 260 (W) 1091 mstly clr none 04:00 63 40 7 321 (NW) 827 mstly clr none 05:00 64 40 8 339 (NNW) 778 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
