First, tspec was reading out corrupted exposures. I tried a nubs restart and an init but that didn't help. I tried a power cycle and that made the images turn to all zero. I tried restarting the PCI card but that didn't change anything. A PR was sent by Bill (PR 2034). Next, arctic was having filter wheel trouble. It was not able to home on the wheel I built (filter wheel 2). It would spin and sounded fine, but a homing error was thrown at the end. After lots of tests, we found that FW7 reported the filters that were in FW5, FW6 reported having the filters of FW5, FW2 wouldn't home, FW4 and 5 read correctly, annd I didn't test FW3. Russet sent a PR for this problem (PR 2033). We renamed FW7 as FW5 in the config files as a quick work around for tonight. We were not able to get tspec solved before sunset, but we had virga clouds so we weren't able to open on time. BY01 lost all of their time tonight, with 0.2hr attributed to instrument issues and the rest due to weather, as we were able to open at 21:05. Seeing wasn't great at the begining of the night, but really improved as the humidity calmed down. Our UW07 student, David Wang, was able to get a good night on sky with lots of TUI practice! 01:41 01:55 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BY01 Tspec I/S 21:05 21:17 Tspec not reading out correctly ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:16 dcamera 881( 1428) 107 31 14.7 16.9 17.5 16.6 14.8 -- 2.12 20:50 dcamera 830( 1304) 111 59 15.0 15.8 16.5 15.5 15.0 -- 1.63 00:16 dcamera 795( 1266) 158 61 16.2 15.8 16.2 16.2 16.0 -- 1.19 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 51 9 225 (SW) 2077 mstly cldy none 17:00 70 51 5 265 (W) 2118 mstly cldy lt rain 18:00 68 51 7 219 (SW) 2127 mstly cldy lt rain 19:00 66 51 2 234 (SW) 2026 mstly cldy none 20:00 61 47 11 51 (NE) 1887 ptly cldy none 21:00 59 46 16 74 (ENE) 2161 clear none 22:00 59 46 13 68 (ENE) 2075 clear none 23:00 59 44 15 72 (ENE) 2001 clear none 00:00 62 39 15 32 (NNE) 2052 clear none 01:00 61 37 8 26 (NNE) 2101 clear none 02:00 61 38 9 4 (N) 2140 clear none 03:00 61 40 8 17 (NNE) 2250 clear none 04:00 61 43 7 345 (NNW) 2052 clear none 05:00 60 44 7 327 (NNW) 2129 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
