Second half the radar weakened, the clouds thinned, and the humidity was not that bad, so I tried opening to catch a hole. As soon as focus was finished, the clouds moved back in and the humidity was right at the limit. I was about to close but another hole showed up, so I gave it a chance, and this turned out to be a productive opportunity. The dewpoint even dropped for a while and we were able to stay open almost until twilight. Once the dewpoint went back up with the telescope now cool, then it was time to close. But hopefully the data will prove to be useful. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:13 arctic 643( 1154) 234 43 10.7 11.6 12.8 11.4 10.8 4170 1.69 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 58 54 6 261 (W) 476 cloudy none 17:00 58 44 9 60 (ENE) 307 cloudy none 18:00 54 53 1 253 (WSW) cloudy none 19:00 54 52 3 81 (E) cloudy none 20:00 55 49 9 49 (NE) cloudy none 21:00 55 49 7 35 (NE) cloudy none 22:00 53 48 8 48 (NE) cloudy none 23:00 53 47 12 31 (NNE) cloudy rain 00:00 50 44 11 77 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 01:00 56 43 14 86 (E) 484 cloudy lt rain 02:00 53 44 11 83 (E) 436 ptly cldy none 03:00 51 47 11 57 (ENE) ptly cldy none 04:00 51 47 9 74 (ENE) mstly clr none 05:00 52 46 2 278 (W) mstly clr none 06:00 53 45 3 264 (W) mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
