Humidity was considerably lower than the last couple of weeks, but I was nervous about it before sunset and did minimal cooling before opening. As a result, the initial focus was very high and came down more than 200 microns over the next two hours, which I was able to follow by inspecting science images. The ARCTIC observer helped me work out some issues with the new ARCTIC sky flats script, which should be fixed quickly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:58 arctic 800( 1607) 40 68 15.4 18.3 17.0 18.3 16.4 sdss_r 1.53 01:22 ecamera 416( -34) 49 29 15.1 14.3 14.9 14.1 14.1 ND3 1.33 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 30 7 264 (W) 348 clear none 17:00 63 30 5 239 (WSW) 320 clear none 18:00 64 30 6 237 (WSW) 333 clear none 19:00 63 30 1 247 (WSW) 349 clear none 20:00 62 30 6 209 (SSW) 363 clear none 21:00 60 30 4 229 (SW) 396 clear none 22:00 60 31 1 207 (SSW) 413 clear none 23:00 60 30 3 146 (SE) 409 clear none 00:00 59 30 1 150 (SSE) 474 clear none 01:00 59 30 1 264 (W) 397 clear none 02:00 58 30 6 347 (NNW) 482 clear none 03:00 57 30 3 342 (NNW) 436 clear none 04:00 56 30 7 345 (NNW) 450 clear none 05:00 55 30 9 345 (NNW) 546 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
