I put the 5" slit in the DIS slit wheel, but quickly ran into problems with homing the slit wheel motors. I power-cycled the DIS robotics, and the problem continued; it also started claiming that it couldn't home the turret. After consultation with Bill and Russet, it turns out that the instrument robotics need to be homed in a very specific order...and the listed order on the obs-spec wiki was wrong. We got the instrument back up and running and I updated the wiki. We didn't lose any valuable time on sky, given the clouds and rain. With no prospects of opening the rest of the night, we gave up at 04:15. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 53 48 16 78 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 17:00 54 50 12 93 (E) mstly cldy humid 18:00 59 46 12 153 (SSE) 370 mstly cldy none 19:00 61 49 10 188 (S) 520 ptly cldy none 20:00 59 47 10 186 (S) 479 mstly cldy none 21:00 57 49 6 193 (SSW) 477 cloudy lt rain 22:00 58 48 1 244 (WSW) 435 cloudy lt rain 23:00 58 48 3 258 (WSW) 417 cloudy none 00:00 60 47 3 328 (NNW) 401 cloudy none 01:00 59 48 5 266 (W) 479 cloudy rain 02:00 55 49 13 29 (NNE) 561 cloudy lt rain 03:00 58 47 8 37 (NE) 537 cloudy none 04:00 58 47 8 31 (NNE) 584 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
