See the seperate engineering email for details. We opened around 21:45 as the clouds cleared, and closed about 1.5 hours later as the dust and humidity spiked. The humidity went back down, but the clouds returned and the dust stayed high until about 4:30 AM. We did get the instrument block for ARCTIC done before we closed, though, and the dust dropped enough that we could open around 05:15 for APOLLO and adjust the pointing corrections at BC1. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:53 arctic 690( 1364) 90 68 14.6 15.5 16.0 15.3 14.9 SDSS_r 1.31 05:56 APOLLO 725( 1936) -12 58 12.7 12.9 14.0 12.6 12.9 530 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 45 3 193 (SSW) 1163 mstly cldy none 17:00 65 42 2 168 (SSE) 1190 mstly cldy none 18:00 66 50 5 210 (SSW) 2681 mstly cldy none 19:00 62 47 11 62 (ENE) 1243 mstly cldy none 20:00 60 46 16 76 (ENE) 1135 ptly cldy none 21:00 59 44 15 86 (E) 1297 ptly cldy none 22:00 58 48 15 85 (E) 2197 mstly clr none 23:00 57 51 17 82 (E) 4478 mstly clr dust 00:00 57 50 14 79 (E) 5362 ptly cldy dust 01:00 58 46 16 72 (ENE) 5126 mstly cldy dust 02:00 58 44 13 82 (E) 4684 mstly cldy dust 03:00 56 45 15 57 (ENE) 5736 mstly cldy dust 04:00 54 45 15 77 (ENE) 4681 mstly cldy dust 05:00 54 46 15 92 (E) 3130 ptly cldy none 06:00 55 45 3 80 (E) 2423 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
