I could not re-create the problem, they came at normal speed, using my desktop computer at home. We used windowing in the DIS slitviewer along with my help to get things aligned. My second observer also was having issues with slow data transfer as well. He reporte data transfers seemed much faster around 00:00. My third observer did not notice any lag in data transfer, this was at 01:20 A cold front hit us around 01:30, outside air temp went from 10.9C to 4.4C in less than 30 mins. Wind direction changed to East and the seeing blew up. 20 minutes later it was back up to 9C! Temps Yo-Yo'ed for the next hour or so as we seemed to be on the boundry of the front. Very poor seeing for the entire 2nd half of the night but we pushed through. We gave up on sky a little early. The observer didn't quite have enough time for his last observations and the seeing was pretty poor as well. He did cals to finish out his time. No telescope problems. Network seemed to work fine for data transfers during the 2nd half of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:10 dcamera 486( 975) 301 52 12.4 14.9 15.1 14.8 12.8 ND7 1.36 21:29 AGILE 436(-1214) 74 58 10.8 12.7 13.2 12.2 11.6 BG40 1.40 01:12 dcamera 531( 769) 1 63 10.9 10.0 10.6 9.6 10.4 -- 1.13 03:43 dcamera 800( 752) 116 62 2.7 3.9 5.3 3.3 3.0 -- 3.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 61 18 18 261 (W) 1389 clear none 17:00 62 18 10 192 (SSW) 1629 clear none 18:00 60 18 11 231 (SW) 1734 clear none 19:00 60 16 20 223 (SW) 2058 clear none 20:00 54 11 17 233 (SW) 2389 clear none 21:00 54 10 7 242 (WSW) 2182 clear none 22:00 52 15 13 206 (SSW) 2025 clear none 23:00 51 14 14 221 (SW) 1783 clear none 00:00 43 28 6 215 (SW) 1262 clear none 01:00 51 17 13 238 (WSW) 1674 clear none 02:00 49 21 9 244 (WSW) 1779 clear none 03:00 38 32 8 118 (ESE) 512 clear none 04:00 36 32 11 90 (E) clear none 05:00 40 32 6 185 (S) 904 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
