NICFPS was not quite so well behaved tonight as the last few times it was used - it presented a variety of different problems until it found one I didn't know the solution for, so that cost some time even though I switched the observers back to Agile while I kept working on it. Although there was some time lost, none of the problems were show-stoppers, and some valuable data were obtained. The second half of the night was more peaceful. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BY03 N I/H 21:35 22:09 NICFPS crash/term svr hung BY03 N I/H 23:05 23:12 NICFPS reboot needed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:04 AGILE 500(-1210) 12 46 9.7 11.3 11.8 10.7 9.9 sdss_r 0.91 20:30 NICFPS 298 MK-J 0.87 01:31 tcamera 430( 1053) 167 68 10.5 10.2 10.8 10.2 10.2 Ks 1.10 02:52 ecamera 439( -237) 126 43 9.9 9.8 10.4 9.7 9.9 Clear 1.14 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 26 13 260 (W) 1289 ptly cldy none 17:00 59 26 11 262 (W) 1294 ptly cldy none 18:00 57 24 12 241 (WSW) 1179 mstly clr none 19:00 56 22 9 220 (SW) 1014 clear none 20:00 53 22 7 211 (SSW) 1111 clear none 21:00 50 29 9 127 (SE) 1280 clear none 22:00 48 31 11 143 (SE) 1343 clear none 23:00 49 30 7 179 (S) 1301 ptly cldy none 00:00 51 27 6 192 (SSW) 1398 ptly cldy none 01:00 52 27 12 190 (S) 1676 mstly clr none 02:00 51 26 12 196 (SSW) 1894 mstly clr none 03:00 50 27 12 222 (SW) 2053 mstly clr none 04:00 50 26 10 233 (SW) 1795 clear none 05:00 51 27 13 241 (WSW) 1687 clear none 06:00 49 28 10 214 (SW) 1633 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
