I got it working again. We had a clearing at sunset but clouds started forming again around 20:30. At 20:50 the SDSS observers reported Virga in the basin and were closing. I opted to play it safe and close shortly afterwards as well. We had precipitation earlier and the forecast was calling for more tonight. Closed at 20:58 due to clouds and possible precipitation. I re-opened when it cleared at 21:35. I closed again at 23:20 due to humidity. Humidity dropped below closure level a little after 2AM, but from the radar there appeared to be radar returns just to our NE and in the county. This was slowly moving in our direction. I opted to stay closed due to the potential threat. Clouds started moving in around 03:00 and rain sensor (snow) went off at 03:30. We gave up at 04:00. At 04:30 we had snow covering the ground and sidewalks (maybe 1/4") and falling. From the radar this system is slow moving and it looks like it may snow for a while. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 30 8 198 (SSW) 953 cloudy none 17:00 38 25 14 231 (SW) 711 cloudy none 18:00 35 27 7 213 (SSW) 669 cloudy lt snow 19:00 32 25 2 236 (SW) 656 ptly cldy none 20:00 33 24 12 205 (SSW) 1037 ptly cldy none 21:00 32 25 1 211 (SSW) 1023 ptly cldy none 22:00 30 24 6 105 (ESE) 958 mstly clr none 23:00 30 27 12 84 (E) mstly clr humid 00:00 29 27 11 92 (E) clear humid 01:00 29 27 16 81 (E) clear humid 02:00 30 25 15 79 (E) clear humid 03:00 28 27 15 80 (E) mstly cldy lt snow 04:00 30 26 8 31 (NNE) cloudy snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
