We had clouds with virga at sunset that I thought would go away, but they got thicker for a while so we weren't able to open until about 9 pm. Then the sky cleared rapidly and we got some very nice data on very faint targets, until the clouds started forming again nearby, and then dissipating, and then re-forming, and generally being hard to predict. This didn't stop observations but it did decrease signal level. Second half, the clouds cleared again pretty quickly, and observations were very productive. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:09 dcamera 430( 785) 82 45 11.1 12.2 12.2 12.2 11.2 - 1.26 01:20 dcamera 490( 729) 351 37 9.6 9.6 10.2 9.5 9.6 - 1.46 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 58 21 15 228 (SW) 2226 ptly cldy none 17:00 60 21 14 200 (SSW) 2162 ptly cldy none 18:00 57 21 14 235 (SW) 1931 ptly cldy none 19:00 52 18 16 184 (S) 2040 mstly cldy none 20:00 52 19 14 183 (S) 2297 mstly cldy none 21:00 52 18 16 182 (S) 2081 mstly clr none 22:00 52 18 12 210 (SSW) 1903 clear none 23:00 52 17 11 163 (SSE) 2077 clear none 00:00 49 16 14 186 (S) 2013 mstly clr none 01:00 50 16 15 195 (SSW) 2370 ptly cldy none 02:00 48 17 15 193 (SSW) 2551 ptly cldy none 03:00 48 18 15 182 (S) 2795 clear none 04:00 47 18 5 166 (SSE) 2859 clear none 05:00 43 19 10 188 (S) 3423 clear none 06:00 42 19 5 184 (S) 3642 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
