It wasn't reading to disk but an ICS restart solved the issue (I didn't need to restart the computer, I just restarted the nicfps icon after VNCing into the computer). I did notice, as Russet pointed out, that there does seem to be a pause between the read bar finishing and the actual exposure being complete. - Arctic was back online (yay!) but had a dropped quad (boo!). Luckily, I was able to bring it back early enough that things were normal and thermalized by the time the GS01 logged in (yay!). However, at 19:58, while the user was trying to change filters with the instrument at a rotation of 170, the filter wheel failed to move. I was given the error "set filter=1 failed: Sub-command(s) failed: move 1: cannot command move, home filter wheel first." I homed the filter wheel, it said it was homing but I don't know if it was actually moving. When I tried to move filters after homing I was left with ? and the same error about cannot command. I then tried restarting the filter wheel via the arctic controller with no luck. Thinking it could be mechanical, I righted the instrument and tried again. Success! I instructed our user to keep the instrument right side up for the rest of the observing time and we had no future issues. I added this information to the PR 2007 trail. Now we get to the weather. We had some clouds that rolled in and out but it was the wind that was the real problem. While seeing was good to moderate, things started gusting over 40 mph and we had to close two separate times (22:04 and 02:13). Things finally started dying down after 5 am and we were able to open again for WY07. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GS01 R I/U 19:58 20:18 Filter wheel won't connect ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:44 arctic 541( 668) 161 60 3.2 3.7 4.4 3.4 3.1 JC-B 1.35 23:21 arctic 408( 298) 65 53 -2.1 -1.4 -0.9 -1.7 -2.1 JC-B 1.75 00:17 tcamera 391( 440) -61 74 -2.7 -2.0 -1.6 -2.5 -2.6 MKs 0.97 05:26 tcamera 529( 594) -49 64 0.5 -1.8 -2.0 -1.9 0.0 MKs 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 44 8 15 261 (W) 1453 mstly clr none 17:00 42 6 16 270 (W) 1109 mstly clr none 18:00 39 4 14 295 (WNW) 688 mstly clr none 19:00 37 5 15 289 (WNW) 846 clear none 20:00 35 12 3 319 (NW) 291 mstly clr none 21:00 32 17 23 6 (N) 452 mstly cldy none 22:00 30 17 14 345 (NNW) 371 ptly cldy none 23:00 29 18 14 354 (N) 320 mstly clr none 00:00 28 18 18 16 (NNE) 359 mstly clr humid 01:00 27 18 25 15 (NNE) 424 mstly clr humid 02:00 28 14 24 21 (NNE) 777 clear none 03:00 28 12 17 12 (NNE) 587 clear none 04:00 28 11 26 22 (NNE) 433 clear none 05:00 33 5 23 23 (NNE) 378 clear none 06:00 33 4 13 42 (NE) 254 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
