TUI crashed unexpectedly right after sunset, when I was opening the menu to open the TSpec focus script. The Echelle boresight location was off center, so I adjusted it a few pixels (from 240,249 to 237,250) and made the change permanent. We were unable to point directly west due to wind for a couple hours, but otherwise the night was clear and uneventful. We closed up around 06:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:58 tcamera 557( 980) 62 64 3.2 5.8 5.7 5.6 3.9 Ks 1.66 22:27 ecamera 477( -644) -76 51 0.1 0.5 1.3 0.5 0.3 Clear 1.15 00:17 dcamera 473( 215) 78 55 -0.9 -0.7 -0.1 -0.9 -0.9 -- 1.64 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 21 14 236 (SW) 311 clear none 17:00 42 21 16 223 (SW) 311 clear none 18:00 37 17 21 233 (SW) 1071 clear none 19:00 36 16 22 252 (WSW) 573 clear none 20:00 36 17 16 266 (W) 1224 clear none 21:00 34 18 16 269 (W) 2411 clear dust 22:00 34 18 7 313 (NW) 898 clear none 23:00 31 15 2 357 (N) 696 clear none 00:00 31 16 21 348 (NNW) 391 clear none 01:00 30 18 12 345 (NNW) 381 clear none 02:00 28 16 22 359 (N) 343 clear none 03:00 27 13 14 25 (NNE) 349 clear none 04:00 27 11 10 360 (N) 341 clear none 05:00 27 9 21 19 (NNE) 302 clear none 06:00 27 6 21 16 (NNE) 264 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
