Emails were sent to the appropriate people. We fought worsening clouds during the first half. My first observer gave up a few minutes early as the clouds became too thick for their targets to be observed. During engineering Russet did further wotk with Kosmos, including new instrument blocks for high and low gratings as well as new plate scales for both. She then further investigated the sensitivity of slit focus to telescpe focus. After this she used the Echelle to confim focus for Kosmos. Next she checked pointing for Agile (fixed) while waiting for the Shack-hartmann to cool down. Pointing was fine with Shack-Hartmann. Russet next checked collimation, adjustment needed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:37 dcamera 573( 817) 2 52 2.4 4.4 4.8 3.9 2.8 -- 1.48 23:58 APOLLO 450( 1464) -2 74 4.1 1.9 3.5 3.1 3.1 -- 1.80 01:38 Echelle ND3 0.79 01:45 KOSMOS 450 -- 1.18 03:20 AGILE 440(-1460) -1 72 3.4 1.8 3.3 2.8 3.0 SDSS_r 0.54 03:36 shack 475( 1301) 27 83 3.2 1.8 3.3 2.8 2.9 -- 0.90 04:52 NICFPS 366( 1090) 30 59 2.6 1.5 2.9 2.2 2.4 H 0.66 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 22 11 219 (SW) 784 ptly cldy none 17:00 38 13 7 196 (SSW) 264 ptly cldy none 18:00 37 9 16 189 (S) 81 mstly clr none 19:00 37 7 13 209 (SSW) 71 ptly cldy none 20:00 36 7 15 201 (SSW) 93 ptly cldy none 21:00 39 11 19 229 (SW) 67 mstly cldy none 22:00 38 13 16 241 (WSW) 115 mstly cldy none 23:00 40 14 19 223 (SW) 113 mstly cldy none 00:00 39 15 16 250 (WSW) 189 mstly cldy none 01:00 38 14 19 248 (WSW) 212 ptly cldy none 02:00 38 10 15 241 (WSW) 225 ptly cldy none 03:00 38 9 13 242 (WSW) 198 ptly cldy none 04:00 37 12 13 261 (W) 266 ptly cldy none 05:00 36 17 11 267 (W) 304 ptly cldy none 06:00 36 18 12 273 (W) 215 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
