However, after I mounted the instrument and CU07 tried to take cals the instrument wouldn't take images or change the fowler sample. A nicfps expose init solved the problem but it happened again after the first and second slew, when the instrument was rotated. The instrument was right side up the whole time. On the third slew with rotation it didn't have any issues. We opened to some clouds but it was still quite now. However, I forgot to record the focus but I focused at 17:20 and it was 0.90". The clouds quickly came about an hour after sunset and by 7pm it was totally clouded over. Then the winds came. As of 4am they were peaking at 45 mph and anticipating to reach 70 mph. There was no hope in opening and I called it at 4am when we hit the 2 hour minimum the observer needed for their data. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 46 26 20 202 (SSW) 452 ptly cldy none 17:00 44 30 16 198 (SSW) 806 ptly cldy none 18:00 44 30 21 199 (SSW) 460 ptly cldy none 19:00 45 30 20 207 (SSW) 341 mstly cldy none 20:00 45 30 20 197 (SSW) 615 cloudy none 21:00 45 30 27 213 (SSW) 845 cloudy none 22:00 45 27 25 222 (SW) 677 cloudy none 23:00 44 25 23 204 (SSW) 770 cloudy none 00:00 45 30 29 216 (SW) 732 cloudy none 01:00 44 32 32 207 (SSW) 369 cloudy none 02:00 43 32 24 219 (SW) 384 cloudy none 03:00 42 32 29 217 (SW) 355 cloudy none 04:00 42 32 37 198 (SSW) 342 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
