On the first target of the night we had blank sky. It turned out the NA2 mirror cover had bounced on opening (at high altitude, which is usually a good place), and so the inner eyelid didn't open. I went back to high altitude, cycled the covers again, and watched in person to make sure the eyelid opened fully. At 23:20 we had a fire alarm for the ops building, but we could not find anything wrong. Perhaps a moth set it off. But at least we were all wide awake! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU06 D T/H 18:42 18:52 NA2 half-eyelid stuck closed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:55 dcamera 586( 1183) 51 66 10.9 12.1 11.9 12.1 11.8 - 0.85 02:45 ecamera 409( 28) 20 81 11.9 10.2 10.7 10.1 10.7 ND4 0.66 04:13 AGILE 509(-1014) 16 60 9.2 9.7 10.4 9.7 9.9 sdss_g 1.18 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 24 2 23 (NNE) 671 clear none 17:00 53 21 9 357 (N) 696 clear none 18:00 53 9 11 13 (NNE) 227 clear none 19:00 51 6 15 16 (NNE) 110 clear none 20:00 51 9 16 14 (NNE) 195 clear none 21:00 52 9 11 11 (N) 304 clear none 22:00 52 8 16 48 (NE) 250 clear none 23:00 53 6 16 34 (NE) 168 clear none 00:00 52 5 15 25 (NNE) 250 clear none 01:00 52 5 16 10 (N) 418 clear none 02:00 53 9 14 16 (NNE) 1239 clear none 03:00 52 11 11 14 (NNE) 1706 clear none 04:00 51 13 10 39 (NE) 1764 mstly clr none 05:00 47 12 7 69 (ENE) 2786 ptly cldy none 06:00 48 13 7 26 (NNE) 1342 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
