For the rest of the night the radar was very threatening and the clouds were terrible, and we had a small amount of precipitation. We had a few motion errors tonight (some induced) all in altitude while slewing downwards: at 17:38, 62.4 alt, and at 18:55 around 30 alt. The rest were part of the testing we decided to do (and happened around 20, 30, 60, and 70 alt). After that we lowered the max slew velocity and had no more motion errors for the rest of the night. Engineering tasks accomplished: - Restarted hub and TCC - Reset axis controllers and zeroed rotators - Russet made masks for KOSMOS - Tested KOSMOS slitviewer on-slit guiding and slit position - Motion error tests and max slew velocity adjustment - Looked into unoptimized kcam flatfielding - Took KOSMOS data for gain/linearity/read noise - Took KOSMOS data for sag measurements I also added some tape to the current KOSMOS LN2 shield so that it will last a little longer. Finished early due to weather. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 48 32 12 241 (WSW) 619 mstly cldy none 17:00 44 32 14 242 (WSW) 823 mstly cldy none 18:00 43 31 13 257 (WSW) 1114 mstly cldy none 19:00 43 30 14 243 (WSW) 1675 cloudy none 20:00 43 30 20 272 (W) 1463 cloudy none 21:00 43 30 16 263 (W) 1917 cloudy none 22:00 43 29 15 264 (W) 2098 cloudy rain 23:00 43 28 20 262 (W) 1815 cloudy none 00:00 42 27 15 265 (W) 1639 cloudy none 01:00 40 26 13 259 (W) 3050 cloudy none 02:00 40 26 11 258 (WSW) 2953 cloudy none 03:00 39 24 15 259 (W) 2357 cloudy none 04:00 38 27 20 245 (WSW) 2378 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
