The winds finally abated. I recovered the ARCTIC dropped quad tonight but the ion pump was struggling afterwards. Bill sent me on a scavenger hunt around the building and the ARCTIC is now connected to an older controller sitting underneath the old DIS controllers, and the vacuum pressure has come back down. But we had no trouble with the telescope or the instruments on-sky! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:45 ecamera 667( 380) 49 44 11.2 11.7 11.1 11.6 11.1 ND4 0.80 06:16 dcamera 404( 799) 78 20 7.2 7.0 7.6 7.0 7.1 -- 1.16 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 53 17 1 201 (SSW) 321 clear none 17:00 52 21 4 256 (WSW) 450 clear none 18:00 53 20 7 41 (NE) 316 clear none 19:00 52 16 12 39 (NE) 201 clear none 20:00 50 17 3 356 (N) 207 clear none 21:00 50 17 15 24 (NNE) 232 clear none 22:00 49 16 12 26 (NNE) 141 clear none 23:00 49 14 7 356 (N) 111 clear none 00:00 50 15 9 20 (NNE) 93 clear none 01:00 50 14 12 72 (ENE) 100 clear none 02:00 47 15 2 112 (ESE) 113 clear none 03:00 47 15 4 113 (ESE) 108 clear none 04:00 44 16 10 114 (ESE) 255 clear none 05:00 47 16 11 175 (S) 159 clear none 06:00 46 17 12 172 (S) 196 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
