The winds then started picking up, topping off at 33 mph, but it was from the west and we weren't pointed that way so not an issue. Things cleared up nicely for B half! Seeing was moderate, likely due to the high upper atmosphere winds. KOSMOS took me some time to dismount, couldn't seem to get the cart straight. And, frankly, seeing the cable wind on it's spool is giving me visions of the cable snapping and killing me. So, I wound it slower than I should have so there was some extra time between B half programs. Cloud cam unexpectedly cut out partway through the night. I suspect it's software related as the whole webpage for the camera went down. I called Shane but he was nowhere near a computer and wouldn't be for many hours. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:34 ecamera 574( 258) 104 36 9.8 11.0 11.1 10.3 9.7 ND1 1.45 20:01 ecamera 488( 69) -125 63 9.2 9.2 9.8 9.0 9.1 Clear 1.21 01:11 kosmos 500( 822) 71 68 7.6 6.9 7.5 7.0 7.2 -- 1.12 06:23 dcamera 410( 761) 79 14 6.6 6.0 6.5 6.0 6.2 -- 3.11 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 24 24 248 (WSW) 800 mstly clr none 17:00 54 21 26 267 (W) 870 mstly clr none 18:00 51 21 21 261 (W) 950 ptly cldy none 19:00 50 21 21 252 (WSW) 1007 mstly cldy none 20:00 48 20 20 272 (W) 987 mstly cldy none 21:00 48 20 23 266 (W) 718 mstly cldy none 22:00 47 21 15 281 (W) 1112 mstly cldy none 23:00 47 22 16 269 (W) 1076 ptly cldy none 00:00 46 23 13 269 (W) 894 mstly cldy none 01:00 46 25 14 294 (WNW) 888 mstly cldy none 02:00 45 27 18 285 (WNW) 949 clear none 03:00 45 28 18 290 (WNW) 890 clear none 04:00 45 28 18 290 (WNW) 907 clear none 05:00 45 28 12 280 (W) 882 clear none 06:00 44 30 12 270 (W) 908 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
