Pointing was again off again with the Echelle at the start of the 2nd program. I again used the star G191 for my initial slew. I then slewed to a pointing ref. star was in the lower right corner just outside the FOV. I adjusted pointingm, set the instrument, and that now move the star to the upper left corner?!? I set the Tilt coef back to the original values and now the star landed near the center! It appeared like the mirrors were still adjusting their final positons but the star images were not streaked. Enough time should have elapsed since this was the 2nd star I went to and the mirror status didn't show any mirror adjustments taking place during the exposures. Strange... No problems tonight and it was nice and clear. We collected a lot of photons! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:27 tcamera 369( 839) 111 51 1.8 6.6 6.2 6.5 3.9 Ks 0.91 00:18 ecamera 441( -613) -140 58 4.0 2.0 3.0 2.3 2.8 ND3 0.70 05:15 tcamera 444( 688) -44 54 2.5 1.9 2.8 2.5 2.8 Ks 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 12 9 194 (SSW) 234 clear none 17:00 38 13 6 212 (SSW) 291 clear none 18:00 34 12 6 156 (SSE) 307 clear none 19:00 33 11 4 161 (SSE) 238 clear none 20:00 33 12 6 114 (ESE) 339 clear none 21:00 38 11 2 117 (ESE) 157 clear none 22:00 40 5 7 239 (WSW) 144 clear none 23:00 39 6 8 227 (SW) 179 clear none 00:00 39 9 5 185 (S) 64 clear none 01:00 33 10 5 185 (S) 187 clear none 02:00 35 10 12 182 (S) 177 clear none 03:00 35 12 11 232 (SW) 102 clear none 04:00 38 16 13 264 (W) 51 clear none 05:00 38 16 8 262 (W) 104 clear none 06:00 33 12 10 248 (WSW) 134 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
