I stayed open for cooling purposes until semi-believable radar started coming near, then I closed. For the remainder of first half, the clouds and nearby radar persisted. I did some work reducing last night's pointing model. After 1 am it looked safe to open again, and I got some other tasks in: another measurement of DIS slitviewer vs spectrograph focus, and then some Shack-Hartmann observations. After an adjustment to the collimation, I checked pointing with the NA2 guider, but then the clouds started getting thicker and some more believable radar started getting closer, so it seemed like time to close for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:06 dcamera 574( 536) 134 74 4.8 4.2 4.6 4.3 4.7 - 1.56 01:17 dcamera 487( 453) 87 56 4.0 4.1 4.6 4.1 4.1 - 1.46 01:41 dcamera 461( 419) 83 61 4.4 4.0 4.5 3.9 4.2 - 1.39 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 6 12 187 (S) mstly clr none 17:00 43 6 12 219 (SW) ptly cldy none 18:00 40 -1 10 216 (SW) mstly cldy none 19:00 40 -1 11 217 (SW) mstly cldy none 20:00 40 -1 12 215 (SW) mstly cldy none 21:00 40 -1 9 265 (W) ptly cldy none 22:00 41 -1 15 251 (WSW) mstly cldy none 23:00 41 -4 13 259 (W) mstly cldy none 00:00 42 -4 14 242 (WSW) mstly cldy none 01:00 41 -2 9 256 (WSW) mstly clr none 02:00 40 3 17 213 (SSW) mstly clr none 03:00 41 1 25 214 (SW) ptly cldy none 04:00 41 4 24 205 (SSW) ptly cldy none 05:00 42 9 24 201 (SSW) ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
