ARCSAT continues to have issues with MaximDL crashing when setting the temperature, in addition to the "initializing support library" problem. ACP also refused to run the dome flat script, with the following incredibly unhelpful error: ... 01:45:10 Doing 11 flats in I at binning 2 01:45:10 (using optional bin-2 panel brightness values) 01:45:14 Switching from R to I filter for imaging 01:45:14 Focus change of 3 steps required 01:45:15 TEST I: 5 sec at bin 2 01:45:15 01:45:16 **Script Error (Tracking has been stopped)** 01:45:16 Source: ACP Observatory Control Software 01:45:16 Message: Probably an error in the flat plan 01:45:16 Location: line 920 column 17. I verified that there were no "errors in the flat plan", and after several failed re-tries I gave up and rebooted the arcsat-user PC because I had no other ideas. ARCSAT then cooperated for the rest of the night. We did not have any apparent problems with pointing during A-half, but the B-half observer identified significant pointing error (40-50 arcseconds) in the altitude direction. See more details in PR 1969. We applied a temporary fix via calibration offsets. Aside from the above, we had no issues tonight and the sky stayed clear all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:20 ecamera 497( 62) 179 78 12.0 15.4 14.8 15.3 12.9 ND3 0.86 01:14 dcamera 538( 776) 51 47 10.4 9.8 10.5 9.6 10.1 -- 1.56 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 61 31 13 235 (SW) 2956 clear none 17:00 61 30 11 214 (SW) 3245 clear none 18:00 59 30 10 216 (SW) 3751 clear none 19:00 54 30 6 190 (S) 3457 clear none 20:00 52 30 15 132 (SE) 3752 clear none 21:00 51 28 16 125 (SE) 4260 clear none 22:00 48 30 10 113 (ESE) 3893 clear none 23:00 50 31 3 144 (SE) 4043 clear none 00:00 52 22 17 136 (SE) 3610 clear none 01:00 51 20 8 180 (S) 3863 clear none 02:00 51 19 8 183 (S) 4128 clear none 03:00 52 20 3 192 (SSW) 4148 clear none 04:00 51 22 2 197 (SSW) 4014 clear none 05:00 52 21 2 191 (S) 4020 clear none 06:00 49 29 2 211 (SSW) 3972 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
