While it was an easy night on the 3.5m, it was not an easy night on the 0.5m. The telescope would not slew at the beginning of the night and it took around 6 hours of trouble shooting and a call to Bill to sort everything out. I'll be adding steps to the arcsat wiki. But the 3.5m behaved splendidly and seeing was excellent all night! Things got pretty cloudy at switch over but everyone was able to get data. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:13 arctic 559( 1595) 162 53 21.3 23.0 22.6 22.2 21.0 sdss-i 0.84 01:24 ecamera 363( 130) 340 53 18.8 19.4 20.0 19.2 19.1 ND4 0.79 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 78 40 8 256 (WSW) 636 ptly cldy none 17:00 78 37 13 249 (WSW) 663 ptly cldy none 18:00 74 31 13 274 (W) 520 ptly cldy none 19:00 73 30 3 253 (WSW) 449 ptly cldy none 20:00 69 32 6 267 (W) 664 mstly clr none 21:00 71 31 5 257 (WSW) 525 ptly cldy none 22:00 69 34 3 343 (NNW) 633 mstly clr none 23:00 68 36 1 307 (NW) 619 mstly cldy none 00:00 69 35 5 263 (W) 817 mstly cldy none 01:00 69 35 2 218 (SW) 748 ptly cldy none 02:00 65 36 11 91 (E) 764 clear none 03:00 63 38 13 83 (E) 647 clear none 04:00 62 38 10 90 (E) 702 mstly clr none 05:00 63 37 8 86 (E) 762 ptly cldy none 06:00 64 36 6 131 (SE) 793 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
