But after just a few spectra the rain came back for real. After APOLLO was clouded out, there was a spirited thunderstorm that showed clear signs of circulation as seen by the optical cloudcam. That's scary, right? But the effect was not apparent in ground-level winds, and once the rain was gone things settled quickly. This time we got just one and a half spectra before the clouds closed in again. Sadly, they prevented me from seeing comet NEOWISE at dawn, so I may have to wait until it becomes an evening object. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:29 ecamera 365( -123) 243 53 16.2 14.0 14.3 13.8 15.1 Clr 1.56 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 77 34 18 266 (W) 1764 ptly cldy none 17:00 78 32 19 257 (WSW) 1850 ptly cldy none 18:00 73 30 14 302 (WNW) 1596 ptly cldy none 19:00 75 31 9 264 (W) 1453 ptly cldy none 20:00 70 32 9 263 (W) 1671 mstly clr none 21:00 64 33 12 88 (E) 1948 ptly cldy none 22:00 64 34 16 113 (ESE) 1983 mstly cldy none 23:00 59 31 26 71 (ENE) 1898 cloudy lt rain 00:00 58 29 28 72 (ENE) 1188 cloudy lt rain 01:00 58 28 11 110 (ESE) 1293 ptly cldy none 02:00 58 28 16 114 (ESE) 1137 cloudy none 03:00 50 27 34 61 (ENE) 1522 cloudy rain 04:00 53 28 15 127 (SE) 487 ptly cldy none 05:00 62 29 4 350 (N) 787 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
