The weather started out raining with radar all around us but it never actually touched us. Once things cleared up we were able to open around 10pm. However, we were only open about an hour before some dark clouds moved in from the east with hints of rain. I admit, I panicked and closed. The rain never hit us and we were closed for about 30min. After reopening we were able to stay open the rest of the night. Even though the intermediate exhaust fans are not working and the telescope never fully thermalized, the seeing was surprisingly good! In fact, it was sub-arcsecond by the time we went to Venus! Speaking of which, as there were clouds at the beginning of CG01 (hey, that's me!), I gave up my standard star time to CU02 and they got an extra 12 min (they were scheduled to change at 03:20). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:24 dcamera 277( 892) 105 71 16.0 18.1 18.7 17.9 16.8 -- 1.59 01:47 dcamera 418( 981) 88 77 16.5 17.0 17.8 16.8 16.2 -- 1.23 03:40 ecamera 424( 22) 269 77 16.4 16.1 16.9 15.9 15.9 Clear 0.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 49 5 260 (W) 666 mstly cldy none 17:00 69 49 5 227 (SW) 736 ptly cldy none 18:00 69 47 10 263 (W) 611 ptly cldy none 19:00 67 45 8 261 (W) 560 mstly cldy none 20:00 65 43 3 215 (SW) 447 mstly cldy none 21:00 61 45 11 8 (N) 1186 cloudy none 22:00 62 46 1 199 (SSW) 955 cloudy none 23:00 62 44 10 187 (S) 822 cloudy none 00:00 61 31 8 188 (S) 833 ptly cldy none 01:00 62 32 7 185 (S) 771 mstly clr none 02:00 61 32 10 184 (S) 696 mstly clr none 03:00 62 31 7 186 (S) 500 ptly cldy none 04:00 59 30 7 208 (SSW) 425 mstly clr none 05:00 61 32 6 271 (W) 732 clear none 06:00 61 32 9 335 (NNW) 707 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
