However, we didn't experience any tertiary issues!Yay! The weather started out mostly clear and we had beautiful sub-arcsecond seeing. The UW09 class had a BALL taking cool images with ARCTIC. They were able to manage all their sky flats and still see the comet in a bunch of different filters! But it's all fun and games until the dust arrives. Which it did shortly before midnight and ruined everything, forcing us to close and we were not able to reopen. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:57 arctic 803( 1689) 38 69 18.6 19.9 20.6 19.2 18.8 sdss-g 1.09 21:31 arctic 693( 1553) -160 65 18.5 19.4 20.2 18.6 18.5 sdss-r 0.88 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 38 4 93 (E) 1941 ptly cldy none 17:00 75 37 8 193 (SSW) 2761 ptly cldy none 18:00 72 34 13 155 (SSE) 3677 mstly clr none 19:00 70 32 9 167 (SSE) 4277 mstly clr none 20:00 67 34 12 153 (SSE) 4310 mstly clr none 21:00 66 31 18 136 (SE) 3131 clear none 22:00 66 31 17 137 (SE) 3435 clear none 23:00 64 35 20 121 (ESE) 5767 clear dust 00:00 64 36 21 136 (SE) 6612 clear dust 01:00 63 33 16 133 (SE) 7339 ptly cldy dust 02:00 61 36 4 253 (WSW) 5697 ptly cldy dust 03:00 61 42 18 157 (SSE) 7627 clear dust 04:00 60 34 20 153 (SSE) 8074 mstly clr dust 05:00 59 33 17 144 (SE) 8628 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
