Thunderstorms started at sunset and we were never able to open. We had rain and the beginning of the night and then high dust at the end. The UW09 did their second night of pre-observing training and will ready for sky tomorrow! ...just in time for the clouds. It was so thick we never had any hope of observing tonight. For engineering I tested the tertiary and all moved well! Dis red showed horizontal lines during checkout so I restarted the power supply and all was good. Jack worked on updating the nightlog at it is good as well! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 81 37 12 264 (W) 911 ptly cldy none 17:00 79 36 10 294 (WNW) 850 mstly cldy none 18:00 76 37 12 288 (WNW) 851 mstly cldy none 19:00 67 40 2 14 (NNE) 5646 cloudy rain 20:00 65 41 3 32 (NNE) 2763 cloudy rain 21:00 67 38 15 24 (NNE) 913 cloudy none 22:00 68 35 7 8 (N) 665 mstly cldy none 23:00 68 35 14 173 (S) 717 mstly cldy none 00:00 64 41 11 167 (SSE) 788 cloudy none 01:00 63 42 22 213 (SSW) 988 cloudy none 02:00 60 44 10 231 (SW) 2476 cloudy dust 03:00 56 48 10 194 (SSW) 18319 cloudy dust 04:00 56 33 8 257 (WSW) 29104 cloudy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
