An expose init solved the issue. Tspec was freewheeling when it was slew rotated past around 100-150 degrees, however it was fine moving in the negative direction. I could feel tension when I rotated the instrument by hand in the positive direction, past about 90 deg. PR was sent. We changed the rotation limit to be -180, 90 so that it wouldn't become an issue while observing. However, as the weather was poor, we did dome slews and tracking. We found that while the rotator current increase as we track rotated past 90, it never caused an over current. I'll test it some more tomorrow The weather started off with tons of clouds and rain everywhere. Things started to clear at sunset but there was radar everywhere. After watching the weather until after midnight, I decided to open and try to the UW08 class some time on sky. Seeing was terrible and the clouds were worse, but they were able to get a few minutes of sky practice. UW08 struggled against the clouds all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:38 tcamera 312( 1192) -30 70 15.1 15.6 15.7 15.5 15.1 Ks 1.66 01:28 dcamera 516( 999) 85 43 13.7 14.9 15.2 14.7 14.1 -- 1.43 02:53 dcamera 454( 875) 182 52 13.5 13.7 14.1 13.4 13.3 -- 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 27 12 265 (W) 1148 cloudy none 17:00 64 33 12 302 (WNW) 2684 cloudy none 18:00 64 32 12 299 (WNW) 966 cloudy none 19:00 64 32 9 309 (NW) 956 cloudy lt rain 20:00 63 30 7 323 (NW) 1007 mstly cldy none 21:00 60 30 9 268 (W) 4504 ptly cldy none 22:00 59 30 15 270 (W) 1533 ptly cldy none 23:00 59 30 14 266 (W) 1365 mstly cldy none 00:00 60 30 10 191 (S) 1815 mstly cldy none 01:00 59 30 15 232 (SW) 1780 mstly cldy none 02:00 56 26 8 192 (SSW) 1614 mstly cldy none 03:00 57 30 9 236 (SW) 1206 mstly cldy none 04:00 57 31 8 231 (SW) 756 mstly cldy none 05:00 56 31 7 324 (NW) 795 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
