A storm blew in at the exact time dome checkout was being performed. A sudden gust caused an enclosure collision. I reset the enclosure controller, checked the collision sensors and I slewed back to 104,10. I did not want to risk more az slew tests in those conditions. Rain started at 18:45. It was finally safe to open around midnight. Around 03:00 returns began to appear on radar. They worsened, and around 03:15 we closed again. We did not open again. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:02 ecamera 377( -92) 59 71 15.6 14.6 14.8 14.6 15.1 ND3 1.17 01:19 dcamera 584( 1058) -45 57 16.0 14.9 15.4 14.8 15.6 - 1.54 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 31 6 249 (WSW) mstly clr none 17:00 73 30 8 242 (WSW) mstly clr none 18:00 68 28 6 219 (SW) cloudy none 19:00 57 32 23 342 (NNW) 3029 cloudy rain 20:00 54 32 13 357 (N) 431 cloudy lt rain 21:00 51 31 22 47 (NE) 571 cloudy none 22:00 54 31 24 65 (ENE) 452 cloudy none 23:00 56 31 20 72 (ENE) 238 ptly cldy none 00:00 60 31 15 68 (ENE) 377 mstly clr none 01:00 61 31 8 85 (E) 463 mstly clr none 02:00 61 31 12 67 (ENE) 527 mstly clr none 03:00 59 30 2 201 (SSW) 475 ptly cldy none 04:00 57 31 13 64 (ENE) 359 ptly cldy none 05:00 55 31 6 113 (ESE) 457 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
