Night was clear and calm with good seeing. Around 22:30 a storm system started to form about 100 mile to the north. It started to grow rapidly, by midnight radar showed rain on our doorstep, and we closed. A suckerhole teased us until 01:00 while rain sprung up all around us. It looked to be going away and we were hoping to open around 03:00, but then the wind and a big wave of dust hit us. NM07 gave up around 04:30, dust was still too high. We did not open again after midnight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:59 arctic 381( 1437) 146 49 21.2 23.4 23.2 22.6 20.9 SDSS_r 1.03 22:16 arctic 650( 1588) 295 40 20.1 20.7 21.3 20.3 20.2 SDSS_r 2.16 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 74 32 13 264 (W) 1063 ptly cldy none 17:00 76 32 10 279 (W) 907 ptly cldy none 18:00 77 32 10 300 (WNW) 871 ptly cldy none 19:00 74 31 12 267 (W) 774 mstly clr none 20:00 71 29 9 264 (W) 853 clear none 21:00 70 28 8 245 (WSW) 896 clear none 22:00 69 27 15 258 (WSW) 1121 clear none 23:00 68 25 9 265 (W) 1012 clear none 00:00 68 26 10 279 (W) 1117 mstly clr none 01:00 67 25 8 271 (W) 1036 mstly clr none 02:00 66 24 1 43 (NE) 1227 ptly cldy none 03:00 58 36 25 64 (ENE) 10159 ptly cldy dust 04:00 57 24 18 70 (ENE) 8817 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
