Also like the previous night, we again had a motion error when moving to a position low in the SSW after program changeover. The motion error occurred at the start of the slew, though, not while tracking, so that was different. I slewed up and then down and then up and it was happy again. Smoke smell was strong in the dome at morning twilight, but the visual evidence and particle counters said this was from distant fires, probably in Arizona. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW09 D T/H 01:15 01:19 az motion error ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:59 arctic 498( 1443) -120 50 19.6 21.0 21.1 20.4 19.8 3250 0.93 01:30 dcamera 478( 1112) 354 27 18.2 17.8 18.5 17.7 17.9 - 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 29 13 270 (W) 1150 clear none 17:00 71 28 12 256 (WSW) 1094 clear none 18:00 74 30 13 261 (W) 1087 clear none 19:00 71 27 13 265 (W) 867 clear none 20:00 68 24 10 266 (W) 817 clear none 21:00 67 23 7 261 (W) 688 clear none 22:00 66 22 12 240 (WSW) 929 clear none 23:00 65 22 10 257 (WSW) 666 clear none 00:00 65 22 7 257 (WSW) 560 clear none 01:00 64 22 10 266 (W) 547 clear none 02:00 64 22 10 275 (W) 540 clear none 03:00 64 22 6 292 (WNW) 585 clear none 04:00 63 21 9 322 (NW) 805 clear none 05:00 64 21 6 309 (NW) 985 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
