A brief spattering of raindrops hit the cloudcam and then went away. Second half the clouds improved, but seeing was quite poor for an hour or two before settling finally. Amazing concentric rings were visible on the IR satellite image, rippling outward from a source somewhere around Socorro. At one point I could see ten rings pretty clearly. We might have to make nice with UNM if we want to benefit from their weather control experiments, is what I'm saying. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:34 ecamera 472( 255) -104 43 16.2 19.5 19.2 19.2 17.2 ND1 1.29 01:28 arctic 425( 1073) 201 65 13.3 14.8 15.6 14.8 13.8 4170 3.01 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 37 8 269 (W) 534 ptly cldy none 17:00 69 35 13 285 (WNW) 367 ptly cldy none 18:00 67 36 8 310 (NW) 363 ptly cldy none 19:00 67 37 10 264 (W) 363 ptly cldy none 20:00 63 37 12 316 (NW) 411 ptly cldy none 21:00 61 37 6 37 (NE) 711 ptly cldy none 22:00 61 36 6 348 (NNW) 455 mstly cldy none 23:00 62 35 1 338 (NNW) 344 mstly cldy none 00:00 62 35 10 2 (N) 473 cloudy lt rain 01:00 58 40 26 67 (ENE) 1395 mstly cldy none 02:00 55 42 23 71 (ENE) 635 ptly cldy none 03:00 53 27 13 76 (ENE) 663 clear none 04:00 61 28 1 196 (SSW) 496 clear none 05:00 59 26 6 245 (WSW) 462 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
