We had good seeing for the beginning of the night, 0.98" for ecam an hour after sunset (but I must have forgotten to hit the Start button on the nightlog Focus as it didn't record). NA02 had their first night on sky and, aside from some butter fingers on the slew stop button, they did great! Clouds started rolling in around 23:00 and were on an off until they became thicker at 3am. Nothing too bad, we were still able to punch through. When I closed up I noticed Venus (like you do) but also smoke. The wind shifted from south the north west and we might be getting some of the smoke from the Gila or Arizona fires. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:16 dcamera 540( 1062) -99 63 16.1 16.0 16.7 15.9 16.1 -- 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 29 19 243 (WSW) 575 clear none 17:00 71 27 22 241 (WSW) 490 clear none 18:00 70 25 12 274 (W) 450 clear none 19:00 68 25 14 255 (WSW) 525 clear none 20:00 66 23 15 270 (W) 562 clear none 21:00 64 21 15 284 (WNW) 850 clear none 22:00 64 21 16 263 (W) 932 clear none 23:00 63 21 14 261 (W) 1046 mstly clr none 00:00 62 20 7 262 (W) 1095 mstly clr none 01:00 62 20 11 314 (NW) 857 mstly clr none 02:00 60 20 15 269 (W) 845 mstly clr none 03:00 59 18 13 284 (WNW) 1010 ptly cldy none 04:00 58 17 13 296 (WNW) 1198 ptly cldy none 05:00 59 18 16 307 (NW) 1209 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
