We risked an opening at sunset. It was partly cloudy, with poor seeing. Around 23:45 the storms to the west got too close for comfort. It was frustrating, becuase we were in a suckhole, clear skies overhead, but there was rain right in Alamo. The rain began to burn out and we opened at 02:10, trying to catch a suckerhole between the two waves of rain sweeping by us. The second wave of rain dried up before it got to use, and we stayed open for the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:46 dcamera 492( 1093) 240 58 16.1 17.6 17.9 17.4 16.4 - 1.37 22:46 dcamera 535( 1037) 154 57 15.0 15.5 16.1 15.3 15.0 - 1.73 02:13 ecamera 383( -123) 202 59 14.1 13.7 14.1 13.7 13.5 clear 1.77 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 31 19 204 (SSW) 1083 ptly cldy none 17:00 65 31 16 192 (SSW) 1218 ptly cldy none 18:00 67 31 23 199 (SSW) 1132 ptly cldy none 19:00 63 28 13 184 (S) 1119 ptly cldy none 20:00 62 26 16 169 (S) 1035 ptly cldy none 21:00 61 24 21 166 (SSE) 924 ptly cldy none 22:00 60 23 16 152 (SSE) 903 ptly cldy none 23:00 58 25 24 146 (SE) 1197 ptly cldy none 00:00 57 28 24 138 (SE) 1300 ptly cldy none 01:00 57 28 17 164 (SSE) 1244 mstly clr none 02:00 58 26 18 176 (S) 1263 mstly clr none 03:00 58 26 16 179 (S) 1252 mstly clr none 04:00 57 28 16 198 (SSW) 1163 mstly clr none 05:00 54 31 15 174 (S) 1144 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
