We took another 900sec dark and it was fine. The clouds were present all night and, while we were able to punch through them during A half, they got thick right at the start of B half. I wasn't able to focus on a star (even at a magnitude of zero) and there were signs of radar near by so I closed up. Things improved around 5am with radar disappearing but the clouds lingered and we were not able to reopen. All surfaces and keyboards sprayed down (and not just by the skunks!). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:12 arctic 784( 1030) 132 49 4.2 6.0 6.8 5.3 4.4 sdss-g 1.76 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 8 15 251 (WSW) 314 ptly cldy none 17:00 45 8 12 266 (W) 345 ptly cldy none 18:00 44 11 15 221 (SW) 365 ptly cldy none 19:00 41 12 16 236 (SW) 369 ptly cldy none 20:00 40 14 14 234 (SW) 434 ptly cldy none 21:00 41 11 13 238 (WSW) 481 ptly cldy none 22:00 43 10 18 262 (W) 418 cloudy none 23:00 43 14 13 243 (WSW) 401 mstly cldy none 00:00 43 12 16 264 (W) 456 mstly cldy none 01:00 43 11 18 265 (W) 436 cloudy none 02:00 42 14 13 259 (W) 464 cloudy none 03:00 41 15 16 269 (W) 440 cloudy none 04:00 41 14 16 249 (WSW) 417 cloudy none 05:00 40 12 14 229 (SW) 401 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
