Varying levels of overcast plagued us throughout the night, from a thin haze to "can't see the moon". CU02 had success with ARCES observing bright stars, and since the sky was too cloudy for engineering purposes, we let them continue into EN01 time. They ended around 02:15, and we did closed-dome engineering until 04:30 before calling it a night. I added the CU02 overrun time as a drop-in in the scheduled section and subtracted the time from EN01. Since the EN01 time was not on sky, I did not record it in the “ACTUAL” section above, and recorded it as ‘weathered out’ in the “Scheduled” section. Engineering tasks completed: Attempted to characterize the altitude drive pseudo-overcurrent tracking problem, but could not reproduce consistently. See engineering email for details. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:18 ecamera 450( -331) 220 57 5.0 7.7 7.8 7.6 5.8 Clear 1.44 21:39 tcamera 339( 788) 225 45 5.4 6.1 6.3 5.9 5.4 Ks 1.04 23:29 ecamera 368( -522) 234 39 5.1 5.2 5.7 5.1 5.1 ND4 1.32 01:26 ecamera 447( -451) 213 49 5.8 5.2 5.7 5.3 5.6 ND2 0.80 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 48 32 12 263 (W) 189 cloudy none 17:00 46 31 12 273 (W) 173 cloudy none 18:00 44 32 7 265 (W) 164 cloudy none 19:00 42 32 9 235 (SW) 181 ptly cldy none 20:00 40 32 9 233 (SW) ptly cldy none 21:00 41 32 9 231 (SW) 159 ptly cldy none 22:00 42 32 10 231 (SW) 145 mstly cldy none 23:00 42 32 10 237 (WSW) 148 cloudy none 00:00 42 32 5 205 (SSW) mstly cldy none 01:00 43 31 7 267 (W) 95 mstly cldy none 02:00 43 30 10 292 (WNW) 95 cloudy none 03:00 42 30 10 280 (W) 95 cloudy none 04:00 43 28 14 276 (W) 60 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
