The second half observer gave up trying to shoot through clouds about half an hour before twilight. Everything worked well on the 3.5m. Everything worked well on ARCSAT too... up until the observer closed and tried to park the dome, then it reported a bad position or stalled dome motor. Also, the webcam did not appear to be working. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:04 tcamera 465( 904) 21 61 3.4 6.0 5.8 5.8 4.3 Ks 1.49 18:57 tcamera 444( 794) 13 56 3.3 4.2 4.6 3.8 3.5 Ks 1.01 00:20 arctic 452( 589) 58 26 3.8 3.4 3.9 3.4 3.6 VR 1.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 45 25 13 221 (SW) 300 clear none 17:00 42 26 14 228 (SW) 752 clear none 18:00 38 27 11 206 (SSW) 690 clear none 19:00 38 25 14 202 (SSW) 1028 clear none 20:00 38 26 14 193 (SSW) 798 clear none 21:00 38 21 19 204 (SSW) 317 clear none 22:00 39 22 17 207 (SSW) 336 clear none 23:00 40 21 12 224 (SW) 237 clear none 00:00 38 21 18 197 (SSW) 101 ptly cldy none 01:00 40 22 18 192 (SSW) 179 ptly cldy none 02:00 39 23 18 190 (S) 201 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 23 18 194 (SSW) 239 ptly cldy none 04:00 38 27 21 212 (SSW) 318 mstly cldy none 05:00 38 24 11 237 (WSW) 300 mstly cldy none 06:00 38 22 9 261 (W) 218 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
