It was cloudy and humid for the first part of the night with about a little less than an inch of snow during the afternoon. The skies then started to clear around 22:30, but humidity was still too high to open. This lasted until around 02:00 when fog started forming overhead. By 04:00 it was cloudy and snow started falling again around 04:30. Apparently the snow was localized to us as nothing was showing up on radar or satellite with regards to precipitation or cloud cover. I gave up at 05:15 and I left the telescope parked due south in hopes that the currently falling snow will not be too much and the sun can melt the roof during the daytime. There was about 2 inches of total snow on my pickup but less on the sidewalks/driveway (although it is snowing as I compose this). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 24 23 11 254 (WSW) cloudy fog 17:00 22 21 1 234 (SW) cloudy lt snow 18:00 24 24 7 206 (SSW) cloudy lt snow 19:00 21 20 2 333 (NNW) cloudy lt snow 20:00 22 21 9 259 (W) cloudy lt snow 21:00 21 21 5 224 (SW) cloudy humid 22:00 22 21 6 251 (WSW) ptly cldy humid 23:00 22 21 6 279 (W) mstly clr humid 00:00 21 20 8 352 (N) clear humid 01:00 21 20 7 314 (NW) mstly clr humid 02:00 21 20 8 318 (NW) mstly cldy humid 03:00 20 19 8 346 (NNW) mstly cldy humid 04:00 19 18 13 335 (NNW) cloudy lt snow 05:00 19 18 15 333 (NNW) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
