I opened for evening twilight, and then closed because the clouds were too thick to see the moon, I opened when the clouds got thinner, and then closed for a big, unseasonal dust spike. I opened when the dust dropped again, and we were able to stay open for a while, but then there was a problem.... Somehow the mirrror covers got closed. The log indicates that I sent the command, around the same time that I was changing the fans (because the dust was down again). I don't THINK I clicked on the covers but I can't swear it's impossible. So, was this a wetware problem, or was there a software bug that changed the state on something else when I clicked on the fans? I'm going to list the time until I noticed the bad status and re-opened the covers as EQUIP, but it's unclear if the equipment at fault was me or TUI. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW03 P T/S? 23:40 00:20 Covers closed - human or computer error? ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:55 AGILE 475(-1700) 111 48 0.8 1.4 2.1 1.3 0.8 BG40 2.37 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 4 14 219 (SW) 752 mstly cldy none 17:00 35 6 17 224 (SW) 897 cloudy none 18:00 34 8 20 210 (SSW) 832 cloudy none 19:00 33 9 18 228 (SW) 725 ptly cldy none 20:00 33 9 17 259 (W) 633 mstly clr none 21:00 34 5 22 272 (W) 6386 mstly clr dust 22:00 34 6 19 258 (WSW) 3002 mstly clr dust 23:00 33 6 13 260 (W) 2683 ptly cldy dust 00:00 33 6 13 244 (WSW) 3912 ptly cldy dust 01:00 33 4 11 238 (WSW) 5602 ptly cldy none 02:00 32 3 11 251 (WSW) 1599 mstly clr none 03:00 31 2 13 259 (W) 983 clear none 04:00 31 1 14 265 (W) 687 clear none 05:00 31 1 13 263 (W) 529 clear none 06:00 29 1 11 274 (W) 590 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
