The forecast looked pretty dire, but the stream of clouds we were under finally shuffled their way out of here around 20:45. Then...they started coming back again around 23:45, although not as bad as at the beginning of the night. These patchy clouds continued to cause issues the rest of the night. While in the middle of guiding on a target around 21:00, the NA2 guider threw an error I don't remember seeing before: 2020-11-13 03:59:23 APO.David.gcam 11095 gcamera f text="No cameras found" 2020-11-13 03:59:24 APO.David 232 gcam f text="\"No cameras found\"" 2020-11-13 03:59:33 client-305 11098 fits w hubTxt="Overwriting header for gcam" 2020-11-13 03:59:34 .gcamera.0 0 gcamera w RawLine="/home/arc/bin/gcamerad: line 4: 14966 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/bin/python gcamera.py 2>> /tmp/gcamera.errors" The guider then stopped taking images. Pressing the "stop guiding" button told me that gcam was not connected. I issued a >hub startNubs gcam, then >hub startNubs gcamera, and then it worked again. The problem did not reoccur. SU01 closed up slightly early and handed their time off to JH01. JH01 struggled with the clouds before giving up around 05:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:26 arctic 454( 702) 3 42 6.1 6.0 6.2 6.0 6.2 Wash_C 1.20 00:29 arctic 467( 666) -152 60 5.6 5.3 5.9 5.3 5.4 Wash_C 1.45 04:25 arctic 542( 727) 69 65 5.2 5.0 5.5 5.2 5.1 SDSS_r 1.23 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 44 11 4 279 (W) 244 cloudy none 17:00 44 10 5 355 (N) 48 cloudy none 18:00 43 10 4 273 (W) 43 cloudy none 19:00 43 11 4 260 (W) 53 mstly cldy none 20:00 44 11 3 292 (WNW) 85 ptly cldy none 21:00 43 10 2 238 (WSW) 75 mstly clr none 22:00 44 11 4 189 (S) 89 clear none 23:00 43 14 5 202 (SSW) 92 mstly clr none 00:00 43 13 6 195 (SSW) 69 ptly cldy none 01:00 43 13 3 204 (SSW) 121 ptly cldy none 02:00 42 13 5 188 (S) 80 ptly cldy none 03:00 42 14 6 193 (SSW) 64 ptly cldy none 04:00 42 11 8 185 (S) 111 ptly cldy none 05:00 42 11 6 190 (S) 85 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
