The upper right set of dome louvers (by the top of the stairs) mysteriously closed itself for no apparent reason while I was doing test slews during afternoon checkout (~16:15); I had opened the louvers probably about 20 minutes earlier. It was still closed when I went up to the dome at sunrise. We practiced remote observing with Jack running the telescope. It seems that VNCing into obs1 is pretty slow. APOLLO arranged during the day to cede their scheduled time to WY02 due to instrument issues. Some clouds rolled in around 2:30 and stuck around until sunrise, but we stayed open. Otherwise, an uneventful night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:36 ecamera 495( -189) 195 74 7.3 10.1 9.1 9.3 8.2 ND1 0.88 19:03 ecamera 484( -279) 244 55 7.7 8.2 8.3 7.8 7.6 Clear 0.80 23:14 tcamera 434( 984) 162 42 9.4 8.2 9.1 8.1 8.8 Ks 0.97 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 27 2 218 (SW) 447 clear none 17:00 46 28 1 15 (NNE) 417 clear none 18:00 44 26 3 114 (ESE) 454 clear none 19:00 46 22 8 95 (E) 413 clear none 20:00 48 24 4 120 (ESE) 404 clear none 21:00 50 23 5 125 (SE) 438 clear none 22:00 51 21 2 196 (SSW) 370 clear none 23:00 50 18 1 196 (SSW) 289 clear none 00:00 49 19 2 159 (SSE) 405 clear none 01:00 48 20 3 122 (ESE) 357 mstly clr none 02:00 48 21 3 54 (NE) 350 ptly cldy none 03:00 48 23 2 101 (E) 423 mstly cldy none 04:00 48 21 6 95 (E) 458 mstly cldy none 05:00 48 20 7 91 (E) 402 mstly cldy none 06:00 48 18 7 95 (E) 278 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
