We had a easterly wind that dropped the temperature and increased the seeing to over 3". It took me a solid 10 min just to even determine what was close to focused. At 21:22 we had a tracking error at az=35, alt=68. I did a short slew to correct for it and we didn't have any other issues the rest of the night. Once the winds died down and the temperature came back up, seeing greatly improved. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:34 ecamera 875( 203) 96 59 8.9 10.1 11.1 9.7 9.1 ND1 3.19 21:06 ecamera 485( -292) 47 68 7.6 8.0 9.1 7.7 7.6 Clear 2.25 01:18 ecamera 491( -172) -60 73 12.1 10.5 11.3 10.5 11.8 ND2 1.09 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 18 11 288 (WNW) 1068 clear none 17:00 61 15 5 279 (W) 1120 clear none 18:00 56 28 9 85 (E) 3074 clear none 19:00 50 28 18 80 (E) 2862 clear none 20:00 47 29 23 68 (ENE) 2569 clear none 21:00 46 28 17 76 (ENE) 2400 clear none 22:00 49 25 3 106 (ESE) 2370 clear none 23:00 53 22 1 207 (SSW) 2155 clear none 00:00 54 21 3 102 (ESE) 2112 clear none 01:00 53 11 10 86 (E) 1686 clear none 02:00 55 12 2 108 (ESE) 1407 clear none 03:00 54 10 6 92 (E) 1512 clear none 04:00 54 10 1 162 (SSE) 1517 clear none 05:00 55 11 1 168 (SSE) 1542 clear none 06:00 56 11 1 221 (SW) 1541 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
