Evening started mostly cloudy, with clouds getting thicker. Winds were high. By sunset, we were clouded out. There was rain all around us on radar, so we did not open. Light snow onsite at 20:30 despite partly cloudy skies. Add to this a dust spike around 22:00! We weren't getting any breaks, it seems. Light snow started again around 22:50. Accumulation began around 23:30. Snow program started at 12:45 (I almost forgot to start it: kind of like the first snow when everyone on the road forgets how to drive in it). At/around 01:00 dataq froze from the backend again. We gave up at 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 46 28 19 218 (SW) 1040 mstly cldy none 17:00 44 28 19 217 (SW) 1740 mstly cldy none 18:00 41 27 12 221 (SW) 2577 cloudy none 19:00 36 25 6 336 (NNW) 2089 cloudy none 20:00 33 25 11 226 (SW) 2502 ptly cldy lt snow 21:00 34 27 13 170 (S) 2837 mstly cldy none 22:00 37 29 12 179 (S) 6897 cloudy lt snow 23:00 35 29 7 159 (SSE) 6172 cloudy snow 00:00 32 32 15 184 (S) cloudy snow 01:00 32 32 20 186 (S) cloudy snow 02:00 32 32 21 211 (SSW) cloudy lt snow 03:00 32 33 15 202 (SSW) cloudy lt snow 04:00 23 23 30 128 (SE) cloudy lt snow 05:00 27 29 18 200 (SSW) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
