Arg. Things were mostly cloudy at the beginning of the night and it was impossible to see anything but bright stars. Luckily WY01 was observing bright IR stars so they were able to get some data. Things cleared up beautifully around 11pm with one thick band of clouds rolling over just for an hour at 4am. Seeing was good - moderate, all things considered. At dawn, I implemented the pointing model taken yesterday and everything looked good. NM10 took their echelle cals at dawn and I will admit to being too tired to stay up and wait for the exposures to finish so I did not take a dawn IOL. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:36 tcamera 538( 653) 91 74 0.7 2.6 3.2 2.8 1.2 Ks 0.89 18:55 ecamera 403( -694) 150 62 0.8 1.1 1.8 1.0 0.7 ND1 1.36 20:39 ecamera 419( -706) 183 51 0.7 0.4 1.0 0.4 0.6 ND1 1.13 03:19 ecamera 426( -775) 286 55 -1.3 -1.2 -0.8 -1.3 -1.2 clear 1.43 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 4 19 215 (SW) 159 mstly cldy none 17:00 35 6 16 199 (SSW) 282 mstly cldy none 18:00 33 10 20 208 (SSW) 502 mstly cldy none 19:00 34 11 19 225 (SW) 441 mstly cldy none 20:00 33 12 19 225 (SW) 443 mstly cldy none 21:00 34 12 18 242 (WSW) 418 ptly cldy none 22:00 34 13 19 223 (SW) 408 mstly clr none 23:00 33 12 17 248 (WSW) 497 clear none 00:00 32 12 21 243 (WSW) 482 clear none 01:00 32 12 19 228 (SW) 471 clear none 02:00 31 14 13 237 (WSW) 431 clear none 03:00 30 14 17 253 (WSW) 531 clear none 04:00 30 14 13 253 (WSW) 351 mstly cldy none 05:00 30 12 8 261 (W) 234 clear none 06:00 30 5 15 257 (WSW) 205 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
