Snow program was run. Snow persisted until 20:00, but we still had to contend with strong winds and blowing snow even after it "stopped snowing". Humidity also remained high. Winds dropped off around 23:30. A check of the roof revealed snow drifts despite the snow removal program running. With the winds dying down it seemed unlikely that the remaining snow would be blown off. Nonetheless, we continued to run the snow program. Observer advised that we give up at 05:00 and so we did. We did not open. Telescope was left pointing south. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 21 20 12 357 (N) cloudy snow 17:00 21 20 11 9 (N) cloudy snow 18:00 20 19 16 39 (NE) cloudy snow 19:00 21 19 10 64 (ENE) cloudy snow 20:00 21 19 16 72 (ENE) ptly cldy lt snow 21:00 20 18 23 71 (ENE) mstly clr humid 22:00 20 18 10 72 (ENE) mstly clr humid 23:00 20 18 16 60 (ENE) mstly clr humid 00:00 20 17 13 61 (ENE) mstly clr humid 01:00 21 17 11 17 (NNE) mstly clr humid 02:00 21 16 19 34 (NE) mstly clr none 03:00 21 15 12 24 (NNE) mstly clr none 04:00 21 14 20 24 (NNE) mstly clr none 05:00 20 12 21 27 (NNE) mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
