I'd never seen this before and...nearly needed a new pair of pants. I reinitialized and set it back to zero and it moved and stopped in perfect position. We didn't have any other rotator problems for the rest of the night. I don't have a time stamp of when this occurred but it was at about 18:30. I thought a PR had been sent a few days ago but I can’t seem to find it. We had wonderfully clear skies all night but, unfortunately, pretty bad seeing. The were opposing currents of air above us and seeing was getting upwards of 3.5". But the UW class completed their second night and managed to power through B half like champs! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:01 ecamera 360( -108) 218 68 14.1 14.5 15.2 14.3 14.1 clear 2.40 00:18 tcamera 442( 1069) 236 62 13.1 13.3 14.0 13.2 13.2 Ks 1.07 04:02 arctic 350( 904) 84 52 13.1 12.7 13.2 12.7 13.2 sdss-r 3.27 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 44 3 240 (WSW) 315 mstly clr none 17:00 69 39 3 102 (ESE) 289 mstly clr none 18:00 69 36 2 159 (SSE) 285 mstly clr none 19:00 66 40 6 100 (E) 349 clear none 20:00 62 41 13 81 (E) 432 clear none 21:00 60 41 16 86 (E) 521 clear none 22:00 58 41 16 86 (E) 605 clear none 23:00 57 40 14 112 (ESE) 682 clear none 00:00 57 40 21 115 (ESE) 800 clear none 01:00 56 41 14 100 (E) 679 clear none 02:00 55 42 13 85 (E) 558 clear none 03:00 55 41 14 83 (E) 506 clear none 04:00 55 40 13 82 (E) 586 clear none 05:00 56 40 5 96 (E) 473 clear none 06:00 54 40 7 113 (ESE) 298 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
