At about 5:30 PM I went upstairs to begin checkout and I had to reset the DIS ion pump controller. Despite periods of tantalizingly thin clouds, the remnants of Hurricane Lorena kept us closed with the threat of rain on the radar and thick clouds the rest of the time. Although the rain threat and the clouds eventually dissipated, they did so as the humidity rose- and by 3 AM, it was too humid to open. We did not open until 6:15 AM, when the humidity dropped low enough to open for APOLLO. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 06:18 APOLLO 500( 1543) 55 73 9.9 9.6 10.1 9.5 9.5 530 1.50 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 42 7 249 (WSW) 180 cloudy lt rain 17:00 53 43 7 264 (W) 178 cloudy none 18:00 51 45 10 235 (SW) 159 cloudy none 19:00 52 42 8 253 (WSW) 157 cloudy none 20:00 51 44 9 235 (SW) 156 mstly cldy none 21:00 51 43 7 203 (SSW) 201 mstly cldy none 22:00 51 43 11 226 (SW) 198 mstly cldy none 23:00 51 44 8 235 (SW) 196 mstly cldy none 00:00 52 42 9 264 (W) 282 mstly cldy none 01:00 51 43 5 265 (W) 233 mstly cldy none 02:00 50 45 9 271 (W) 194 cloudy humid 03:00 50 46 6 271 (W) mstly cldy humid 04:00 50 45 11 301 (WNW) mstly clr humid 05:00 50 47 11 283 (WNW) mstly clr humid 06:00 50 46 7 305 (NW) mstly clr humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
