The rotator had moved fine earlier in my tests. I re-init the axis, did a few very small slews and then larger ones and all seemed better. My first nicfps image was bad (black/white blocks), an init fixed the problem. 2019-09-19 02:12:31 .gmech.1 1 gmech w gmechConnState='Failed',"[Failure instance: Traceback (failure with no frames): : Connection to the other side was lost in a non-clean fashion.]" We had to do another nicfps init just at the start of observations due to the same issue I had seen at the start of the night. It was fine when I focused a few minutes prior. It happened during a slew to a std. We had another camera dropout at around 11:37UT which required another reset. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:32 tcamera 325( 1167) 124 74 15.8 18.0 17.5 17.4 16.2 Ks 1.35 22:40 arctic 352( 1055) 216 41 15.6 15.7 15.9 15.1 15.1 SDSS_g 1.10 22:43 NA2gdr 3439(37439) 216 40 15.9 15.6 15.8 15.1 15.2 R 1.00 03:55 NICFPS 403( 1349) 248 51 14.0 13.6 14.2 13.4 13.7 J 0.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 38 9 254 (WSW) 132 clear none 17:00 69 40 13 269 (W) 171 clear none 18:00 66 39 8 286 (WNW) 120 mstly clr none 19:00 61 38 5 267 (W) 124 mstly cldy none 20:00 59 38 2 251 (WSW) 108 mstly cldy none 21:00 60 36 4 263 (W) 105 ptly cldy none 22:00 60 36 1 291 (WNW) 114 ptly cldy none 23:00 60 36 3 212 (SSW) 98 mstly cldy none 00:00 60 37 6 194 (SSW) 97 mstly cldy none 01:00 60 37 4 247 (WSW) 87 mstly cldy none 02:00 59 37 4 189 (S) 123 mstly cldy none 03:00 59 37 3 199 (SSW) 151 ptly cldy none 04:00 58 38 3 210 (SSW) 122 mstly clr none 05:00 55 38 7 236 (SW) 163 mstly clr none 06:00 57 39 4 259 (W) 171 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
