However, after only being open 40 min some scary clouds started to form over us and descend. There was a lot of virga so I closed up. As soon as I went to close the ecam had the error last week where the image is offset to the right and the left half of the chip looks like a dark (see ecam0077 and ecam0084). I followed the wiki instructions but was not able to make the ecam come back so I called Bill. He solved the problem and wrote up a document with some additional troubleshooting steps. We were able to open back up at 22:40 with good seeing. However the ecam issue came back again at 03:21 (see ecam2330) and I was not able to solve the problem before we needed to switch to ARCTIC for a ToO. I went through the wiki steps and the additional steps that Bill sent but I was not able to fix the problem. Seeing was excellent all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FG02 E I/U 03:21 03:45 ecam producing shifted images ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:09 ecamera 322( -139) 226 64 14.5 14.7 15.0 14.5 14.3 Clear 0.68 00:08 ecamera 413( -85) 290 67 13.9 13.9 14.4 13.8 13.9 Clear 0.72 03:00 arctic 459( 1032) 7 62 13.3 13.3 13.8 13.2 13.2 sdss-i 0.55 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 50 12 241 (WSW) 216 ptly cldy none 17:00 63 47 13 266 (W) 157 ptly cldy none 18:00 61 48 11 260 (W) 175 ptly cldy none 19:00 61 46 9 265 (W) 143 ptly cldy none 20:00 59 47 7 264 (W) 167 ptly cldy humid 21:00 58 49 9 188 (S) 239 ptly cldy none 22:00 58 48 11 190 (S) 226 mstly clr none 23:00 58 47 12 204 (SSW) 193 clear none 00:00 58 47 12 207 (SSW) 206 clear none 01:00 57 47 10 190 (S) 216 mstly clr none 02:00 57 47 10 229 (SW) 239 mstly clr none 03:00 57 46 9 268 (W) 156 mstly clr none 04:00 56 46 7 267 (W) 202 mstly clr none 05:00 56 45 10 333 (NNW) 178 mstly clr none 06:00 56 43 11 311 (NW) 170 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
