In this case, it was on a dark and stormy night. We started with cloudy skies and virga which finally touched ground around 9pm. We had a light rain for a few hours and I thought things were starting to turn around near 3am. We were able to open, though the clouds still hovered about. But seeing was pretty darn good! However, around 4:30, things started taking a nose dive. I stayed open as long as possible in an attempt to let our user collect cloud flats and managed to close just before the rain began. It was a rather nice dawn rain but, alas, no cloud flats. DIS behaved itself and we had no problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:24 NICFPS 336( 1460) 204 35 16.6 17.1 17.4 17.1 16.8 MK-H 1.26 03:28 NICFPS 400( 1484) 23 56 16.7 16.6 17.0 16.6 16.7 MK-H 0.84 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 42 8 56 (NE) 308 mstly cldy none 17:00 75 42 8 202 (SSW) 286 mstly cldy none 18:00 73 42 10 236 (SW) 311 mstly cldy none 19:00 68 43 3 235 (SW) 301 mstly cldy none 20:00 68 40 6 177 (S) 300 cloudy lt rain 21:00 66 43 11 102 (ESE) 334 cloudy lt rain 22:00 64 44 12 93 (E) 402 cloudy lt rain 23:00 64 44 10 106 (ESE) 693 cloudy lt rain 00:00 64 44 15 112 (ESE) 915 cloudy none 01:00 63 44 14 112 (ESE) 825 ptly cldy none 02:00 62 44 12 112 (ESE) 779 mstly cldy none 03:00 62 45 12 124 (SE) 815 mstly cldy none 04:00 62 47 19 129 (SE) 835 mstly cldy none 05:00 63 47 16 136 (SE) 675 cloudy rain 06:00 64 44 15 154 (SSE) 684 cloudy rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
