A second bias changed the pattern, and left a lot more noise but did not solve the issue. I tried a 3rd bias, which didn't fix the situation so I tried restarting the camera. ARCTIC vacuum 2.0x10^-2 torr Clouds looked like they were going to swamp us during the first half but disappated when the approached. We weren't so lucky for the 2nd half as they got thicker. I managed to get TSPEC focused but the clouds just got thicker after that and the observer didn't get anything useful under these conditions. We gave up at 04:15 with thick clouds overhead. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:34 dcamera 270( 1146) 35 52 20.2 23.4 22.8 23.0 20.9 -- 1.00 23:15 dcamera 515( 1215) -10 41 19.2 19.5 20.0 19.2 19.2 -- 1.30 01:28 tcamera 512( 1382) 58 51 18.3 18.4 19.0 18.3 18.4 Ks 0.72 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 76 33 10 292 (WNW) 327 ptly cldy none 17:00 74 31 8 222 (SW) 316 mstly clr none 18:00 74 32 7 297 (WNW) 239 mstly clr none 19:00 72 31 4 256 (WSW) 275 mstly clr none 20:00 68 31 6 292 (WNW) 283 mstly clr none 21:00 67 32 6 217 (SW) 342 mstly clr none 22:00 66 32 6 210 (SSW) 462 ptly cldy none 23:00 67 32 9 203 (SSW) 356 ptly cldy none 00:00 65 34 16 201 (SSW) 506 ptly cldy none 01:00 66 31 7 191 (S) 422 mstly cldy none 02:00 66 31 9 190 (S) 327 cloudy none 03:00 66 31 8 183 (S) 292 cloudy none 04:00 66 30 8 182 (S) 279 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
